ANTIOXIDANTS

ANTIOXIDANTIEN

Antioxidants are molecules capable of neutralizing and eliminating harmful free radicals in the body. Free radicals are unstable molecules that arise from oxidative processes in the body, such as exposure to UV rays, environmental pollution, smoking or metabolic processes. When there are too many free radicals in the body, they can cause damage to cells and tissues , which can lead to various health problems.

Antioxidants can help reduce this damage and lower the risk of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative diseases. There are different types of antioxidants, including vitamins (such as vitamin C and vitamin E), minerals (such as selenium and zinc), and phytonutrients (such as polyphenols and flavonoids).

Antioxidants are found in a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and some teas and spices . Consuming foods containing antioxidants can help maintain the balance between free radicals and antioxidants in the body and reduce the risk of oxidative stress and related diseases.
